Joe Biden has officially been declared the president-elect after the House and the Senate certified the Electoral College votes. Following yesterday’s US Capitol unrest, President Trump has committed to an orderly transition.
In the predawn hours, at the end of a long day on Capitol Hill following protesters storming the Capitol, Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) shared and “elbow bump.” The sign of unity and reconciliation followed the House of Representatives and Senate certification of the Electoral College votes making President elect Joe Biden’s victory official. The pair also shared a brief conversation following the certification in which they appeared to thank each other, Fox reported.
Following yesterday’s unprecedented storming of the US capitol by protesters, President Trump said in a statement: “There will be an orderly transition.”
